Residential Care Programs
Parrott Creek has created a new standard of care for youth residential treatment on our brand-new, $30M, 80 acre trauma-informed campus. Building on our 56-year heritage of providing residential programs to Oregon’s most vulnerable youth, we worked with local and national experts to re-envision the care, treatment and physical spaces offered in residential settings. We have developed sector-leading, transformative, and culturally responsive approaches, placing ourselves at the heart of statewide efforts to meet the ever-changing needs of vulnerable children and families.
And we have a successful track-record: over 90% of youth report positive changes in their lives, a strong therapeutic relationship with staff, and that treatment was helpful in achieving their goals.
Parrott Creek provides three residential programs for adolescents:
With a focus on developing sustainable, prosocial behaviors, and skills that help them overcome trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences, our caring staff help youth develop life skills, accountability, personal regulation, and the belief that they can be successful.
Our residential treatment programs operate under the principle of unconditional positive regard and the belief that our youth are doing the best they can with the personal tools and opportunities they have available to them. We support youth and families in developing and practicing skills that will guide them to achieve their individualized goals and reach their full potential. Our programs provide individual, group and family counseling by master’s level therapists. And youth are involved in a broad range of skill building groups that are strength-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed.
We provide both mental health and drug and alcohol counseling on site for youth who require it by CADC’s and overseen by a CADC-II level clinician. We also treat and work with youth who exhibit sexually inappropriate or harming behaviors.
Youth attend our on-site school delivered in partnership with Clackamas Education Service District where youth can gain a high school diploma or GED. We also offer a number of enrichment activities, including an on-site gym, basketball court, playing field, art classes, community and cultural field trips, and environmental education with access to our 80 acres of forest, creeks and wetland areas.
